In simple terms, this means that nearly half the world's population of children miss out on the benefits of an education. It is often children from the world's poorest families that are most likely to miss out on going to school as they may have to work to help support their families.

In Central America, education and literacy levels are desperately low with many children falling behind. Economic constraints combined with a lack of teaching material seek to deprive children of this most basic of rights.

The Selvin and Friends Foundation believe that the opportunity for children to have a meaningful education is a basic human right and through raising funds, we seek to support the delivery of education in local schools in Central America through providing much needed teaching and school materials to assist with the delivery of education for those who need it the most.
